2 Men ID'd as Victims in Des Plaines Hazmat Situation
The 53-year-old and 83-year-old who lived in the townhouse were found dead at the scene.

The two men who died during a Hazmat situation in unincorporated Des Plaines Thursday afternoon have been identified as Hong Kyqkim, 53 and John Tae Kim, 83.
Kyqkim and Kim were residents of the townhouse in the 9400 block of Harrison Street where the emergency was called around 3:30 p.m., according to the Chicago Tribune. A woman residing there was taken to a hospital and is listed in critical condition.

Four sheriff’s deputies have been released from the hospital after experiencing respiratory “difficulties.”
Numerous agencies responded to a 911 call of three people in distress Thursday afternoon when they found the two men dead at the scene. The townhouse was evacuated but later reopened to residents.

No indication has been given as to the cause of the hazardous situation, and reports indicate oxygen levels appeared to be normal and nothing unusual was detected in the water supply.
Harrison Street, from Dee Road to Potter Ave., had been closed during the situation - which occurred near Apollo Elementary School and a building that houses the Illinois State Police, Illinois Department of Revenue, Illinois Lottery and Property Tax Appeal Board offices.
The area has since reopened.
