Accused Movie-Theater Stabber to Get Psych Evaluation
Daniel J. Dion of Des Plaines says he'll "cooperate" with psychologist. He's accused of stabbing his movie date more than 20 times.

A Des Plaines man who stabbed his movie date at least 20 times in her car while parked in the theater parking lot earlier this year will meet with a psychologist before he returns to court in May.
Daniel J. Dion, 18, of Des Plaines, faces charges of attempted murder and aggravated battery with a deadly weapon following the January attack in the Century Theater parking lot in Deer Park. Dion told police he woke up on Jan. 8 with the “intent to kill” the woman, Katherine M. King, 24, of Vernon Hills, because she ”annoyed him.”
Dion has pleaded not guilty. He cannot afford his own mental-health evaluation. Judge Daniel Shanes approved funding for one, reports the Chicago Tribune.
