Des Plaines Man Charged With Possessing AI-Generated Child Sexual Abuse Material (patch.com) — Des Plaines residents are being informed that a 44-year-old local man has been charged with possessing child sexual abuse material, including AI-generated images, after an investigation traced uploads to a home on East Oakton Street. Authorities say a search of his computer uncovered more than 70 illicit files, and he is now in Cook County Jail custody while the case proceeds.
3. Brass Knuckles Found In Traffic Stop, 2 Vehicle Burglaries: Des Plaines Blotter (patch.com) — Des Plaines residents can see how local police recently handled two vehicle burglaries, a warrant arrest, and an intoxicated pedestrian who allegedly sat in the roadway near Rivers Casino. Officers also report finding brass knuckles during a traffic stop on Elmhurst Road, leading to a weapons charge and several traffic citations.
4. 4th Man Charged In Fight At Des Plaines Mosque: Police (patch.com) — Des Plaines readers are learning that a fourth man has now been charged in connection with the late-night fight at the Islamic Community Center of Des Plaines on Potter Road. Police say the suspect turned himself in after witnesses reported he chased and struck a victim before leaving in a Tesla, adding to earlier arrests tied to firearms found in a BMW.
5. District 62 Adding Middle School Soccer Through New Suburban Partnership (patch.com) — Middle schoolers in Des Plaines' District 62 will soon have new chances to play competitive soccer thanks to a partnership with Districts 59 and 64 in the Mid Central Suburban League. Starting Sept. 8, seventh- and eighth-grade boys and girls teams from schools like Chippewa, Iroquois, and Algonquin will play seven-game seasons with weekly matches and after-school practices.
