• City Expected To OK Deal To Transform, Former YMCA Into Sports Complex (journal-topics.com) — Des Plaines is moving toward turning the former Lattof YMCA on Northwest Highway into the new Cambridge Athletic & Social sports complex, with aldermen expected to approve a key incentive deal. The city recently bought the four-acre site and is loaning most of the renovation cost to developer Nicholas & Associates, aiming to add racket sports, a restaurant, and a market for local residents.
