April Meeting of the Des Plaines Art Guild

Barbara Braverman will do a colored pencil demo at the April 12th meeting of the Des Plaines Art Guild at Prairie Lakes Comm. Ctr. at 7pm.

The next general meeting of the Des Plaines Art Guild takes place on Tuesday, April 12th at 7:00 pm at Prairie Lakes Community Center, 515 E. Thacker Street in Des Plaines. The featured artist for the evening is Barbara Braverman, who will do a colored pencil demonstration for members and guests. In addition to colored pencil, she uses oil pastel, ink and gold leaf in her artwork.

She received her Bachelor of Science degree in Art Education from Bradley University. Barbara spent many years as an art teacher, where she taught 7th and 8th graders and also adults. She then transferred her artistic talents to make-up artistry and color cosmetics, becoming the owner of Colorisma Cosmetics and Skin Care for 26 years. Currently, she says she is back to honoring her artistic passion and doing commission work specializing in highly-realistic colored pencil portraits from photographs (www.barbarabraverman.com).

The public is welcome to attend the Des Plaines Art Guild's meeting. There is no fee, but donations are appreciated. Refreshments will be served. To join the guild, download a membership form at dpag.org.
