Actors are needed to bring a Thornton Wilder classic play to the stage. Open call auditions for Oakton Community College’s production of “The Skin of Our Teeth” are scheduled 6-9 p.m. Wednesday and Thursday, Aug. 22-23, at the college’s Footlik Theater, 1600 E. Golf Road, Des Plaines.
The director is seeking five males and five females of all ages and ethnicities. Prepare a contemporary monologue less than two minutes long and come ready to do a cold reading from the script. Monologues need not be memorized.
A winner of the Pulitzer Prize for Drama, “The Skin of Our Teeth” focuses on George and Maggie, a couple from New Jersey who have been married for 5,000 years. Combining farce, burlesque, satire and comic strip elements, the play depicts a family as it narrowly escapes one end-of-the-world disaster after another.
