Downtown Des Plaines Streetscape Project

Des Plaines Public Works announced the onset of the Streetscape and Roadway Improvements Project in the area of US Route 14 (Miner Street), from Graceland Avenue to Pearson Street.

The City of Des Plaines Public Works and Engineering Department recently announced the onset of the Streetscape and Roadway Improvements Project, part of the City’s 2013 Capital Improvement Program, in the area of US Route 14 (Miner Street), from Graceland Avenue to Pearson Street. Theproject will include the installation of sidewalks, curb and gutter, pavers, trees, sod, irrigation, lighting, planters, seating walls, site furniture, signage and other improvements to rehabilitate the streetscape.

Construction work hours will be from 7AM-6 PM, Monday through Friday.  Work on Saturdays is currently not scheduled, but may occur if needed.  “NO PARKING” signs will be posted along the construction route as necessary.  Street and sidewalk access may be limited during working hours.  Every effort will be made to maintain access for residents and patrons and may include temporary ramps. The overall project completion date is Tuesday, October 1, 2013. Completion is dependent on weather and unforeseen conflicts.
