Cast Members From Chicago-Based NBC Shows to Perform at Anti-Gun Violence Fundraiser

Actors from "Chicago P.D.," "Chicago Fire" and "Chicago Med" will be part of event to honor Des Plaines teen shot and killed last year.

DES PLAINES, IL — Cast members from NBC's trio of Dick Wolf-produced, Chicago-based TV shows will be part of a fundraiser to start an anti-gun violence group, as well as a celebration in honor of a slain Des Plaines 14-year-old boy who was shot and killed last year.

The 2016 Patrick Lives On launch event will be Sept. 10 at The Chop Shop, 2033 W. North Ave., Chicago. General admission tickets are $100, and VIP Status tickets—which include a meet-and-greet and photo op with actors from Chicago P.D., Chicago Med and Chicago Fire—run $200.

As part of the event, the TV actors "are joining together to sing, dance, improv, perform stand up and make music to help celebrate the life of Patrick Boswell who lost his life to gun violence in 2015," according to the event's website.

The event also will help launch the Patrick Lives On … to End Gun Violence, a nonprofit group aimed at protecting Chicago-area kids from gun violence through public service messages, after-school programs and other measures.

Patrick, an eighth-grader at Iroquois Community School, was shot in the head in January 2015 in Rosemont. Cesar Garay, 20, of Rosemont has been charged with first-degree murder in connection with the shooting, according to the Chicago Sun-Times.
