Join the Oakton Community College String Ensemble at 8 p.m. Friday, March 23, as they perform chamber music at the college’s Footlik Theater, 1600 E. Golf Road, Des Plaines.
Led by Daniel Golden, “Chamber Music Lounge” is a free, public event that will include performances written for strings and winds. Golden serves as principal viola of the Lake Forest Symphony and also spent more than two decades as a professional musician with the Orchestra London Canada.
“Oakton musicians will be performing a variety of chamber works by noted composers including Bach, Mozart and Beethoven,” Golden says. “Audience members will be free to move around the room, observe the performances from different vantage points and meet the performers. The program will conclude with a movement from Mozart’s quirky ‘A Musical Joke’ as a sneak preview of our next performance.”
