After the Halloween Parade in downtown Des Plaines Saturday, October 24, children are invited to paint sugar skulls, race pumpkins, and view Día de los Muertos altars from 11 a.m.-4 p.m. at the Des Plaines History Center, 781 Pearson Street. Sugar skull painting is $3 per child for non-members, $2 for members. Visit desplaineshistory.org or call the History Center at 847-391-5399 for more information.These Día de los Muertos events are sponsored by the Des Plaines History Center and the Kiwanis Club of Des Plaines.
