Between 1904 and 1943 more than 400 murals were painted in Chicago. The murals depict a broad view of American life and social history - from agricultural and industrial settings to themes of musical genius, founding fathers, explorers, settlers and indigenous cultures. This slide lecture tells the story of the rediscovery and restoration of the murals; the story of people working together not just to create art but to save it.
