Golf Maine Park District Appoints New Park Board Commissioner
Jinal Shah of Des Plaines will be sworn in as the new Park Board Commissioner for the Golf Maine Park District at the Dec. 15 meeting of the Board of Commissioners. Shah replaces Lamont Johnson who had to resign due to a change in his employment. Johnson has been on the Board since April, 2003.
The Board selected Shah from among the applicants at its Nov. 17 regular meeting. Shah was selected after interviewing with the Board in executive session. He will complete Johnson’s term which goes until April, 2017. Per Illinois Statute, park commissioners receive no compensation.
Shah who has a background in finance and accounting said, “I want to make a difference in the park district community with fresh ideas and to improve the efficiency of our administrative operations.”

He added, that he grew up in the park district and participated in sports especially baseball and coached basketball. He has a Bachelor of Science degree in accounting and finance from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. He is a Strategy Analyst with Deloitte Consulting in Chicago.
