Harper College at Brookdale Plaza Des Plaines
Harper College Lifelong Learning Institute and Brookdale Plaza Des Plaines are proud to present Myra Loris' new series: Uniquely American.

Myra will be teaching Harper LLI courses for members 55 and older on Fridays at Brookdale Plaza Des Plaines starting in September.

The Lady and the Light: Myra Loris will review the fascinating story behind the creation and significance of the Statue of Liberty.

The White House: Myra Loris will look beyond the Oval Office at the history, changes and major personalities connected to this home of the American people.

Long, Tall and Strong: Join Myra Loris for a look at the history of the construction and importance of the Brooklyn and Golden Gate Bridges as marvels of American technology and ingenuity.
The Front Yard in America: Myra Loris will survey the history and significance of some of the more important monuments on the National Mall, including the Washington, the Lincoln, and the WWII Memorial, as well as Arlington National Cemetery.
The Tower of Freedom: The 13-year process of the re-building of the World Trade Center, including the new 9/11 Memorial and Museum and the new five-building office complex will be explored by Myra Loris. You will hear interesting anecdotes, details and powerful stories of triumph over tragedy.
