Los Lobos Performs Benefit For Illinois Leukemia Lymphoma Society
Four-time Grammy winning Los Lobos will appear for one night only April 5 at Joe's Live in benefit for Illinois Leukemia-Lymphoma Society.

ROSEMONT, IL -- Four-time Grammy winner Los Lobos will be making a special appearance for one night only at Joe’s Live in Rosemont on behalf of the Illinois Leukemia Lymphoma Society. The show starts at 7 p.m. Thursday, April 5. Los Lobos' multi-faceted sound blends rock, soul, punk, blues and Tex Mex along with traditional Mexican folk music. The band has won four Grammys and was nominated in 2015 for the Rock 'n Roll Hall of Fame (they didn't make it). Los Lobos' most recent album "Gates of Gold" has also drawn critical acclaim.
All proceeds will go to Illinois Leukemia Lymphoma Society’s mission to find a cure leukemia, lymphoma, Hodgkin's disease and myeloma, and improve the quality of life of patients and their families. The Illinois chapter provides outreach and advocacy to persons with blood cancer, including travel arrangements for patients to get cancer treatments, helping with copayments or deductibles, and funding treatments for the uninsured.
“When I saw Illinois Leukemia Lymphoma Society patient outreach firsthand it was touching,” event organizer Ernie Perdoza said. “One-hundred percent of proceeds are going back to the organization’s patient outreach.”

Opening for Los Lobos is Rogers Park-based pop band Gooey and Chicago youth from the Grammy-nominated Mariachi Herencia de Mexico. Fans of the East L.A.-band, best known for their 1980s reprise of Ritchie Valens “LaBamba,” will be in for a treat while helping a very worthy cause.
“Joe’s Live is like a mini House of Blues. It’s one of the best venues in the suburbs to see a live show,” Perdoza said. “It has a fantastic atmosphere and offers an intimate concert setting.”
