Three candidates are seeking the Democratic nomination in the March 19th primary for Illinois' 6th Congressional District, Mahnoor Ahmad one of them.

Mahnoor Ahmad was born in Balochistan, Pakistan. She earned a bachelor's degree from Loyola University Chicago in 2013 and a graduate degree from Purdue University in 2016.

During an interview Miss. Ahmad said.” I am a community advocate, and I am running for Congress to be a voice for the hardworking families of the Sixth District who have been ignored for far too long by Current congressmen.

Ahmad proclaimed, "I am a candidate to represent that community first. "I've spent the most of my life serving the needs of this community, having lived here for more than 20 years as a social worker."

Miss. Ahmad proceeded to say that we must incorporate "better schools for education with an emphasis on supporting Medicare for All" into the infrastructure. That's what our campaign aims to challenge. Not the political elite, but the average person is who we are advocating for, and we need their support.

I will be the voice of every community. Equality for all individuals. District 6 needs a strong voice to fight for them in Washington. They need leaders that work for all of us.

One of the main issues in her campaign, according to her, is the need for "More Humanity" in the response to Israel's war on Gaza.

She emphasized that an increasing number of Americans claim that they support a ceasefire in Gaza, that their political beliefs are unrelated to this, and that innocent people are being tormented "by the worst of humanity."

I emphasized several beliefs, and Miss. Ahmad continued. I want to be a progressive democrat who defends American equality, justice, and decency. She said, "My main goals will be to stop the drug epidemic and gun violence, as well as to support Medicare for All. I speak for myself and my American beliefs."

Miss. Ahmad further Highlights unrestricted lobbying that affects national and international policy. Enacting the genuine will of the people is impossible due to organizations like the NRA, AIPAC, Blue Cross Blue Shield, and many others. I acknowledge Rep. Ro Khanna's Political Reform Resolution, which includes safeguards such as 18-year term limits, rotation of Supreme Court justices, a binding code of ethics for justices, and a 12-year limit on terms for members of Congress. It also prohibits members from accepting PAC and lobbyist money and prohibits members from lobbying for life.

Ahmad Mahnoor highlights an important issue, that security, stability, and the ability to imagine a better life for oneself and one's loved ones are the fundamental needs that all people share. The United States must accept responsibility for its part in the destabilization of Latin America, particularly during the 1950s to 1970s, and provide funding for state-building projects in countries with high migration rates, such as Mexico, Guatemala, and Honduras. These initiatives should have three primary goals: education, open governance, and domestic security.

Further issues that Ahmad believes are of the utmost importance for the Illinois 6th Congressional District are increasing the minimum wage and correcting our flawed criminal justice system.

After I'm elected, I promise to you that I will continue to be involved in my community, pay attention to what they have to say, and work with them to advance policies that benefit working families.

Ahmad shared her thoughts in closing, saying, "I will always defend the rights of victims of domestic abuse and stand up for the rights of women." I promise to put forth a lot of effort every day to protect our community and give everyone access to high-quality public education.

She will be the first Pakistani American member of Congress once elected.
