The City of Des Plaines Public Works and Engineering Department has announced that Howard Avenue, from Wolf Road to Mt. Prospect Road, will be closed from 3 p.m., July 2, 2013, to Tuesday, July 16, 2013 (weather permitting), for road construction work at the Union Pacific Railroad Crossing, a press release from the city states.
Local traffic only will have access.
Detour signs to Oakton Street will be posted. Motorists are advised to proceed with caution and use Oakton Street as an alternate route.
