Scottie Pippen to Help Reopen Des Plaines Kmart; Will That Draw You to the Event? (POLL)
The former Chicago Bulls star will sign autographs Saturday morning as part of the retailer's "re-grand opening" plans.
DES PLAINES, IL — How do you add sizzle to the reopening of a Kmart store? Asking former Chicago Bulls forward Scottie Pippen to show up is certainly a good start.
Pippen—a six-time NBA champion and a man whose name fits behind "Michael Jordan and …" better than "jelly" fits at the end of "peanut butter and …"—will be part of the "re-grand opening" festivities Saturday at the Des Plaines Kmart, 1145 E. Oakton St., according to DNAinfo. The event will include a ribbon-cutting ceremony, as well as prize giveaways, the report stated.
What won't be given away are photos with the former Bulls all-star, who will be at the reopening from 8 to 9:30 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 27. Customers and fans will be able to take photos with Pippen that they can buy, and he'll also autograph items brought in by fans, DNAinfo reports.
