Sunday Afternoon Adventures to begin at Des Plaines History Center

Sunday Afternoon Adventures for families, September 21, October 19, and November 16, 1-4 p.m.

Calling families and children! What better way to spend a Sunday afternoon than learning and creating at the Des Plaines History Center? Afternoon Adventures, an educational and fun program, is set for September 21, October 19, and November 16 from 1-4 p.m. at the History Center, 781 Pearson Street. Cost is $3 per child, $2 per child with a member.

Families will learn a little history about traveling and how people communicated with others before cell phones and texting. Participants will be invited to design a postcard, craft a message, and send it to someone special.

“Bring the young people in your family for an engaging learning experience interesting for both children and adults,” said Philip Mohr, History Center curator. “Feel free to drop in anytime during the session.”
