Support Oakton scholarships at Aug. 2 Trivia Night

Put on your thinking caps and enjoy a night of fun and friendly competition while raising money for Oakton Community College scholarships by attending Trivia Night Thursday, Aug. 2, at Club Casa Café, 353 N. River Road, Des Plaines.

Now in its fifth year, Oakton alumni, friends, family and supporters are welcome to join the annual event. Form teams of four to six players or make new friends buy joining a squad. Doors open at 6 p.m., and trivia starts at 6:30 p.m. This year’s theme is Chicago.

Early bird tickets ordered by July 26 are $25 and include a Chicago-style hot dog bar, appetizers, two drink tickets (beer, wine, soda) and prizes for top-scoring teams. Ticket purchases after July 26 will cost $30 per person.

In addition, bid on a variety of sports memorabilia from Chicago teams including the White Sox, Cubs and Bears. Items up for grabs include a Luis Aparicio autographed baseball in a trophy cases with certificate of authenticity (COA), a Robin Ventura autographed baseball in trophy case with COA, a 2005 Chicago White Sox World Series Champions cap with original stickers, an Ernie Banks autographed baseball in trophy case with COA, a Billy Williams autographed baseball in trophy case with COA and a 2006 Chicago Bears National Football Conference Championship cap with original stickers.

Sponsored by Oakton’s Office of Alumni Relations and Alumni Council, the event also includes a 50/50 raffle. Purchase one ticket for $1 or six for $5. Winners need not be present.
