Taste of Pakistan in Bolingbrook has Record breaking turnout
Association of Pakistani Americans Bolingbrook marks the 31st Anniversary of Pakistan Flag Hoisting Ceremony and Taste of Pakistan Festival.
As the Pakistani community around the world celebrates Pakistan's 75th Independence Day with extraordinary enthusiasm this year in 2022. A series of celebratory events took place throughout Chicago and its suburbs to mark the diamond jubilee of Pakistan's independence.
The event brought together thousands of people from the Pakistani American community representing different backgrounds, with an equally impressive number of residents, including Pakistan Consul General Tariq Karim attended the flag-raising ceremony and the "Taste of Pakistan" event at Bolingbrook hosted by the Association of Pakistani Americans (APA), Bolingbrook. An estimated 11,000 people came forward to take advantage of the event.
During the Flag ceremony, Pakistan Consul General Tariq Karim said, “Boiling Brook Pakistani community has achieved many milestones, and her greatest strength remains the people of Pakistan. I urge the Association of Pakistani Americans (APA) to keep the Pakistani flag flying with dedication and hard work for 31 years.”

The event kicked off with the usual recitation of the Holy Quran with translation. The founder and chairman of the APA, Talat Rashid, welcomed the audience. Talat Rasheed, founder of the Association of Pakistani Americans in Bolingbrook began the ceremony 31 years ago.
Several officials of the Village of Bolingbrook, including high-level businessman around neighboring cities, state and local representative and prominent community leaders, dignitaries including Mayor of Bolingbrook, representative of the Governor of the State of Illinois, Representatives of many Illinois state officials, the school board chair, the village commissioner, and many others were present at the event. Around 6:30 pm. The flag of Pakistan was hosted by the Consulate General of Pakistan in Chicago, Tariq Karim along with Mayor Mary Basta, Talat Rasheed and several other leaders. The American & Pakistani National Anthem was sung on the occasion.

The moderator of the program, Mir Ali, has done an excellent job in ensuring that the program continues effectively. The event begins with a thrilling musical concert with Sharique Roomi, Legendary versatile singer Tahseen Javed providing entertainment until the show ends.
During the Program Association of Pakistani Americans (APA) collected forty thousand dollars for urgent support to Pakistan after flooding in the south of the country killed at least 1100 people. Extreme monsoon rainfall has affected millions, with at least 700,000 homes destroyed.
Huge Claps appeared at a time when Tahseen Javed stepped on stage as euphoria took over. The public praised his popular songs as the opportunity continued to pay him an inclusive tribute to a high energetic woman and youngsters. The singer Tahseen thrilled the crowd with patriotic songs and other successes.
The Consul general of Pakistan in Chicago stayed till the end and enjoyed it. He applauded the organizers and the community and stressed that the community must stay united and continue to be a vital part of American society.
At the end APA Founder & President Talat Rashid thanked all sponsors for their support and hard work in making the event a success. This year major sponsor was Advanced Pediatric Care.
