The Wheeling Township Community Mental Health Board (WTCMHB) is now accepting applications for an upcoming volunteer Board Member vacancy, offering residents a meaningful opportunity to make a lasting impact on the mental health and well-being of community members in need of related services. The selected individual would serve the remainder of the current term through December 31, 2026, with the opportunity to be considered for a full four-year term thereafter.

WTCMHB members play an important role in guiding the strategic direction and governance of the Township’s Community Mental Health Board. Through monthly meetings and collaborative initiatives, members help advance the Board’s mission to promote and support essential services for individuals facing mental health challenges, developmental and intellectual disabilities, and substance use disorders.

The WTCMHB also helps ensure residents in need have access to these critical resources by funding community service providers through grants and increasing awareness of available services and support systems.

“This is a meaningful opportunity for residents to make a direct and lasting impact on the mental and emotional well-being of community members who are in need of these services,” said WTCMHB Manager Karin Frisk. “We encourage individuals who are passionate about mental health, substance use disorder, and intellectual and developmental disability services - and those who are committed to strengthening systems of care for those in need - to apply and help guide the work of the Community Mental Health Board.”

Applicants must be residents of Wheeling Township and should submit a resume (including full home address) and a cover letter outlining their interest in serving, their vision for the Board, relevant leadership or board experience, and availability to commit to monthly evening meetings, and other Board activities.
