2 Cars Burglarized At Brickhouse Tavern In Downers Grove: Cops

Police say two laptops valuing around $3,000 total were stolen.

DOWNERS GROVE, IL — Police in Downers Grove are investigating a pair of smash and grab car burglaries that took place in the parking lot of a local tavern Friday evening. The burglaries were reported around 8 p.m. at Brickhouse Tavern, located at 1461 Butterfield Rd., according to a police report.

Police say they were called to the bar for a report of a vehicle that had been burglarized. The victim told police that the front passenger window of his Hyundai Elantra had been shattered. He said an Osprey backpack valued at around $150 and a black Dell Notebook valued at around $1,500, had been stolen during the burglary.

While police were investigating the burglary to the Elantra, they noticed a nearby Honda Odyssey parked nearby also had its front passenger window shattered. The owner of the Honda Odyssey told police that a gray Under Armor backpack worth about $40 and a Dell computer valued at around $1,500 had been stolen from her car.
