2 Cars Reported Stolen In Westmont In 24 Hours

Police say both of the cars had been left unlocked with the keys inside.

WESTMONT, IL — Police in Westmont are investigating two car thefts that were reported Thursday. According to police, both cars had been left unlocked with the keys inside.

The first incident was reported in the 1100 block of Buttonwood Drive around 3:38 a.m. The owner told police their car had been stolen from their driveway. The car was later found unoccupied in Downers Grove.

Just before 4 a.m., Westmont police went to a home in the 1100 block of Florence Avenue to speak with a resident after their car was seen fleeing police "in a neighboring community." The resident then realized their car had been stolen.
