2 Homes Burglarized In 1 Week In Downers Grove: Cops
Police say one of the homes was burglarized after someone crawled through a living room window.

DOWNERS GROVE, IL — Two homes were burglarized in Downers Grove within days of each other, according to police. The first burglary took place on April 13 in the 2300 block of Durand Dr., police say. The second burglary was reported on April 17 in the 5400 block of Walnut Ave.
According to police, the resident who lives on Durand Dr. said she left her home around 8:45 a.m. and returned home around noon to find her living room window open and her house alarm activated. The victim told police that the suspect(s) stole several items from her jewelry box, including gold and diamond earrings.
Police say they noticed damage around the frame and latch of the home's living room window.

On April 17, a resident in the 5400 block of Walnut reported that someone had gotten into her unit in the building and stolen items while she and her husband were away. She told police that several pieces of jewelry were missing from a jewelry box in a spare bedroom of the home.
