6 Car Burglaries In 24 Hours In Downers Grove
Police responded to six car burglaries in Downers Grove in one day.

DOWNERS GROVE, IL — Downers Grove Police are investigating six separate car burglaries that took place within the course of 24 hours. The incidents took place between late Nov. 21 and Nov. 22 and appear to have been focused on two areas of the village that were near I-355. It is not clear if the burglaries are related.
Three of the burglaries took place just north of the intersection of Highland and Ogden off I-88.
1500 Almond Ct.: At 10:22 p.m. on Nov. 21, a resident reported a burglary in progress in the 1500 block of Almond Ct. He told police a dark blue four-door sedan pulled into his cul-de-sac and three men got out and began attempting to get into other cars. Police said the driver was described as a black male.

1100 Barberry Ct.: A bluetooth headset and two boxes of fundraiser candles were stolen from a car that was burglarized on Barberry Ct. sometime between 9 p.m. on Nov. 21 and 8 a.m. on Nov. 22.
3800 Belle Aire Lane: Another vehicle burglary took place between 10:30 p.m. on Nov. 21 and 5 a.m .on Nov. 22, according to Downers Grove Police. The victim reported that a green sweater and a pair of Prada glasses were taken.

Police say three more burglaries took place in near the intersection of Belmont and Maple, not far from I-355.
5600 block of Walnut Dr.: Sometime between 6:30 p.m. on Nov. 21 and 5 p.m. on Nov. 22 suspect(s) entered a vehicle parked in a resident's driveway and removed $4 in cash and a gold necklace valued at $200.
5500 block of Durand: The victim told police that their car was burglarized sometime between 10 p.m. on Nov. 21 and 7:30 a.m. on Nov. 22. Police say the suspect(s) took a Blackhawks sweatshirt with an estimated value of $75.
5400 block of Ashbrook Pl.: A car burglary took place sometime between 10:30 p.m. on Nov. 21 and 8:30 a.m. on Nov. 22. at the aforementioned address. According to police, the burglar(s) took $4,000 in cash that was in an envelop in the center console, along with a$20 in change.
