7 Brew Hopes To Open Drive-Thru Coffee Shop In Downers Grove

DOWNERS GROVE, IL — 7 Brew is hoping to open a coffee shop with a drive-thru at 1434 Butterfield Road. Village commissioners will consider an ordinance Tuesday that will grant a special use permit and a zoning map amendment for the development.

The site is currently zoned as a B-3, general services and highway business district. The requested amendment would rezone the site to a B-3/PUD, general services and highway business/planned unit development.

Proposed for the site is a 1,434 square foot building that would house a coffee shop equipped with a two-lane drive-thru, per village documents. There would be no indoor or outdoor seating.

The Downers Grove planning and zoning commission voted unanimously to recommend approval of the project.

7 Brew Coffee offers classic and signature coffees. Their seven signature coffees include regular and sugar-free cookie butter, cinnamon roll and banana bread.

The shop also serves up fruit-flavored fizz sodas and smoothies, milk shakes, lemonades and tea.

Founded in 2017, 7 Brew has locations in 38 states, with more in Illinois, including one in Naperville. They recently opened their second Joliet store and are set to open stores in Grayslake and Plainfield.
