• Patch's Best 2026 Halloween Yard Haunts: DuPage And Kane Counties (patch.com) — Families in Downers Grove can visit The Haunted Cemetery on College Road, where the Duncan family has created a whimsical graveyard, pirate ship scene and witch-filled lair, all lit nightly, weather permitting. New this year, JK Pumpkin Farms at the same site offers locally run, affordable decorative pumpkins, gourds, hay bales and corn stalks, making it a convenient neighborhood stop for Halloween fun and fall décor.
   

• Downers Grove To Vote On 13-Apartment Mixed-Use Development (patch.com) — Downers Grove residents may soon see a new 13-unit mixed-use building at 5112-5120 Forest Avenue, combining apartments with restaurant and office space plus on-site parking. Village Trustees will vote Tuesday evening at Village Hall on the planned unit development and special use request, following a unanimous recommendation from the planning and zoning commission.
   

• Downers Grove North gets the job done, holds off Lyons to clinch a share of West Suburban Silver title (shawlocal.com) — Downers Grove North football fans just saw their Trojans clinch at least a share of the West Suburban Silver title with a 17-10 home win over Lyons at Downers Grove North High School. Strong rushing, clutch defense, and a focused week of practice helped the team bounce back from last week's overtime loss and keep conference championship hopes alive.
