Armed Robber Steals iPhones From Store In Downers Grove
The suspect showed a handgun and demanded that the store owner put all the iPhones into his bag.
DOWNERS GROVE, IL -- Downers Grove Police are investigating an armed robbery that took place at an Android phone store in mid-April. The incident took place at the Android Wireless and Repair store located at 6315 Woodward Ave., according to a police report.
The store owner told police that on April 12, the suspect entered the store while he was assisting another customer. The owner reportedly asked the suspect if he needed help, to which the suspect ultimately responded by asking if the owner bought back iPhones and by saying "I need you to take a look at these phones."
When the owner approached, police say the suspect put a red bag on the counter, pulled a handgun from his waistband and said, "Put all the iPhones in here."

Police say the owner put 11 iPhones into the bag and that the total loss was estimated at more than $4800.
The offender then fled, but the store owner ran outside and reportedly spotted him in a GMC Envoy with temporary license plates. He was last seen heading south on Springside Avenue.
