Author Nick Hornby Coming to Downers Grove
The author of "High Fidelity" and "About a Boy" is coming to Downers Grove to promote his new book, "Funny Girl."

The author of “High Fidelity” and “About a Boy” is stopping by Downers Grove to promote his new book, “Funny Girl.”
Nick Hornby will visit the Tivoli Theater on Feb. 7 at 2 p.m., hosted by Anderson’s Bookshop.
In Hornby’s new title, “it’s the swingin’ ‘60s and a young comedy hopeful is having the time of her life, until things start hitting a little too close to home,” according to Anderson’s.

Hornby also adapted the novel “Wild” for the movie.
Tickets to see Hornby are $36, which includes a copy of “Funny Girl.” A companion ticket, which does not include a book, can be purchased for $10, according to Anderson’s. Only one companion ticket may be purchased with each regular ticket.

Doors open at 1 p.m. and seating is first-come-first-served.
Hornby will answer questions on stage, and the theater will show “About a Boy.” During the movie, attendees can line up based on their ticket number to meet Hornby and have their books signed. Signings usually last about two and a half to three hours.
