Beer, Brats And Watts To Raise Money For Downers Grove Nonprofit

Watts of Love will host an event on April 28 to help provide solar lighting to people across the globe who live without electricity.

DOWNERS GROVE, IL — A Downers Grove nonprofit will serve up beer and bratwursts at a special charity event that supports bringing solar lighting to countries that are without electricity throughout the world. Hosted by Watts of Love, the Beer, Brats, and Watts event event will take place April 28 at 7 p.m. at St. Dennis Church in Lockport.

Members of Watts of Love will talk about the organization's efforts to educate countries about solar lighting and to send people to Nepal, Ethiopia, Guatemala, Mozambique, and other nations to help further the cause. Residents will also get information about how they can travel to these countries to help Watts of Love.

Admission to the Beer, Brats, and Watts fundraiser is $25 and includes two beer or wine tickets and one bratwurst ticket. Other food will be available, according to the event page, and the event is family-friendly.

Founded in 2009, Watts of Love uses solar lighting tools and education to aid the more than 1.1 million people throughout the world who have no access to electricity.
