Blaze Injures Resident, Firefighter At Westmont Apartment Complex

The fire tore through the second floor of the 30-unit apartment complex.

WESTMONT, IL — One person was rushed to the hospital and a firefighter was injured after a fire ripped through an apartment complex in Westmont Wednesday evening. The fire broke out on the second floor of the 30-unit complex in the 500-block of N. Cass, according to NBC.

Firefighters were called to the residence just after 6:30 p.m. and fought the flames for more than an hour.

The firefighter suffered a minor injury, NBC reports. The resident was rescued after being found inside the building. As of early Thursday, no information was available about their condition.
