Breast cancer awareness: female minority-owned hair care brand Ecoslay

Teams up with nonprofit to promote healthy hair products

Do you know the ingredients of what you put in your hair each and every day? It’s no secret that hair products are proven to directly impact a woman’s health. For Black women, hair can make or break their cancer battle. Recently, a study found a toxic chemical in hair care products could fuel breast cancer in Black women.

While most will go undiagnosed, Black women are more likely to be diagnosed at advanced breast cancer stages – and 40% more likely to die. These unsettling statistics are a driving force behind the Breast Cancer Awareness Month partnership between female Black-founded and owned hair care brand, Ecoslay and Atlanta-based millennial breast cancer awareness non-profit, Painted Pink.

Each organization believes in the resilience and strength each woman possesses, and knows with the right education – there’s hope to bring these numbers down. Both have the same mission: educate and motivate women to find peace and power in their own hair care routines.
