Burglars Steal $27K In Jewelry From Home In Downers Grove

DOWNERS GROVE, IL — Downers Grove Police are investigating a home burglary in which $27,000 in jewelry and other valuables were stolen, including a gold Breitling watch valued at $12,500. The burglary took place in the 7200 block of Grand Ct. just before 8 p.m. on Jan. 20, according to police.

The victims told police that they had gone out for the evening and returned to find that someone had kicked in the side door of the home's kitchen. Once inside, the burglars stole a safe that contained more thousands of dollars worth of jewelry.

The safe contained gold bracelets and rings valued at more than $12,000, a watch valued at $1,500, ammunition, and other items.
