Walk Among the Stones and Stories: Voices from the Past
Come listen to the settlers' stories on Saturday, October 24, 2026, from 10 a.m. to noon. The Downers Grove Historical Society invites visitors to meet some of the people who helped shape the village—right where their stories rest.
At the Living Cemetery, actors of all ages will portray people buried in historic Main Street Cemetery. As visitors stroll the grounds, they’ll hear firsthand accounts of life in Downers Grove’s early days and discover the personalities behind the names carved in stone.
Bring the family, take a walk, and let the past speak for itself. The event takes place at Main Street Cemetery, and no registration is required.
