'Calvary' to Play at Tivoli Theatre, Courtesy of After Hours Film Society

“Calvary,” a 2014 Irish drama starring Brendan Gleeson, will play Jan, 12 at 7:30 p.m. at the Tivoli Theater, presented by the After Hours Film Society.

”Calvary” was written and directed by John Michael McDonagh.

The film is $6 for members and $10 for non-members. It runs 104 minutes and it’s rated R. A discussion will follow the film.

Justin Chang of The Village Voice wrote in his review, ”Grounded by a performance of monumental soul from Gleeson as a tough-minded Irish priest marked for death by one of his parishioners, the film offers a mordantly funny survey of small-town iniquity that morphs, almost imperceptibly, into a deeply felt lament for a fallen world.”
