Car Stolen In Downers Grove, Found In Oak Brook

A woman was borrowing her boyfriend's car when it was stolen near her home on Herbert Street.

DOWNERS GROVE, IL — Police are looking for a suspect(s) who stole a car from outside of a home on Herbert Street. The incident took place early Monday, Nov. 6, according to a report from Downers Grove Police.

The police report shows that the woman, who was borrowing her boyfriend's 2005 Infiniti G35X, left the car unlocked with the keys in the center console overnight. When she came outside the following morning, she discovered that the car had been stolen.

Police later spoke with the woman's boyfriend and he gave them the car's license plate number. Police ran the plate number and found that it had also been run by Oak Brook police when it was found unoccupied in the 100 block of Saddlebrook Dr. just before 6:30 a.m., an hour before it was reported stolen.

After learning that the car was stolen, the police report shows that Oak Brook Police contacted the residents who live where the Infiniti was left abandoned. The woman who lives at that address told police that she noticed the car outside of her home around 4 a.m. on Nov. 6 and her husband later called to report the suspicious vehicle.
