Car Stolen From Driveway In Downers Grove: Police

DOWNERS GROVE, IL — Downers Grove Police are investigating an incident in which a resident's car was stolen from outside of their home. Police say the car, a black 2007 Jeep Wrangler, was taken from a home in the 700 block of Summit St. sometime between late Friday and early Saturday.

The victim told police they last saw their Jeep around 9:30 p.m. Friday when it was parked in their driveway just outside of their garage. Around 6 a.m. the following day, the resident noticed the Jeep had been stolen.

Police say the resident was unsure whether or not the stolen car had been left unlocked or whether the keys had been left inside.

According to police, the victim said someone had also gotten into their other vehicle, which had been left unlocked, and had rifled through the glove compartment and center console. Nothing was reported missing from the second vehicle.
