Car Stolen Near Train Station In Downers Grove
The victim told police the car was left unlocked with the keys in the center console.

DOWNERS GROVE, IL — Downers Grove police are investigating a car theft that took place near the Belmont Avenue train station. The victim told police her husband parked their vehicle in the lot in the 2200 block of Belmont and took the train to work on Oct. 10, but that the car was missing when he got back from work.
According to a police report, the car, a red 1997 Ford Explorer, was left unlocked at the station around 6 a.m. The keys were inside the car's center console underneath some paperwork, the victim told police.
Police checked the Belmont station parking lot, but say there were unable to find the car.
