Cars Stolen, Burglarized At Hotels In Downers Grove: Crime Blotter

A car was stolen and another was burglarized in two separate incidents at hotels in Downers Grove, police say.

DOWNERS GROVE, IL — Downers Grove police are investigating a car theft and a car burglary, both of which took place at hotels in the village, according to the most recent blotter from the Downers Grove Police Department.

Car Burglarized at Best Western on Finley Road

Police were called to the Best Western at 3010 Finley Rd. around 10 p.m. Jan. 21 for a vehicle burglary. The victim told police someone broke the back passenger side window of their Infiniti. According to police, nothing had been stolen from the car, but it had been rummaged through.

Car Stolen from Double Tree Suites on Butterfield Road

A 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee was stolen from the Double Tree Suites at 2111 Butterfield Rd., according to police. The victim told police they had parked the locked car in the lot around midnight, but discovered it was missing around 2 a.m.

Items Stolen from Best Buy

Police were called to the Best Buy at 1432 Butterfield Rd. for a report of a retail theft just after 7 p.m. on Jan. 18. An employee told police they saw two people come into the store and steal a Sonos Ray Bars, a Sonos Amp 250W 2.1 Ch Amplifier and a Netgear Orbi 960 Series AXE11000 Quad-Band Mesh WiFi 6E system. The total loss was valued at $3,039.95.
