Cat Reported Stolen From Hotel Room In Downers Grove

The victim told police she left her cat in the hotel room and returned to discover it was missing.

DOWNERS GROVE, IL — Police in Downers Grove responded Saturday to a report of a cat being stolen from a hotel room. The theft was reported at the Red Roof Inn, 1113 N. Butterfield Rd. at around 11:30 a.m.

The victim told police that she left her cat in the room she rented around 10 a.m. and did not put the cat in its cage. When the victim returned to the room at 11:30 a.m., she noticed the cat was missing.

Police and hotel staff checked the hotel room and grounds, but were unable to locate the cat. According to police, there were no pry marks or signs of forced entry on the door to the hotel room.

Hotel staff told police they will check their system to see if a key card was used to gain entry to the room.
