Chicago Chef to Demo at Lemon Tree Saturday

Chef Bill Kim of Urban Belly, Belly Shack will be at Lemon Tree from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday.

Attention foodies: Chef Bill Kim, owner of the super delicious Urban Belly and Belly Shack restaurants in Chicago, will be demoing some of his new sauces at tomorrow, March 3 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m..

Lemon Tree Grocer has the honor of hosting Chicago chef, Bill Kim, owner of Urban Belly and Belly Shack and creator of Urban Belly Seoul Sauce and Belly Fire Hot Sauce. Chef Kim was born in Seoul, Korea and moved to the United States when he was seven years old.  He began his culinary career roasting sesame seeds and grinding them using a mortar and pestle. Kim attended Chicago based Kendall College where he received his culinary degree.  He then travelled around the country fine tuning his culinary skill in well-renowned positions. Just a few of his accolades include Sous Chef at Trio, chef de cuisine at Charlie Trotter’s, and Executive Chef at Inn on Blueberry Hill in Pennsylvania and at Le Lan in Chicago.

In 2008, Kim opened Urban Belly, a fast casual noodles and dumpling concept.  Belly Shack, a restaurant highlighting pan-Asian cuisine with Latin hints, soon followed in 2009. Recently, Chef Kim has packaged his creativity in his Urban Belly Seoul Sauce, a balsamic soy, Belly Fire Hot Sauce, Belly Bomb, a ghost chili hot sauce, and Belly Smoke, a chipotle hot sauce. This Saturday from 11AM until 1PM, Chef Kim will be demoing these savory sauces with pork and cilantro dumplings. This is an event not to be missed!
