Christmas Decorations Stolen From 4 Homes In Downers Grove
Several Downers Grove residents reported that inflatable Christmas decorations and other items were stolen or vandalized.

DOWNERS GROVE, IL — Thieves stole and vandalized Christmas decorations from four homes in Downers Grove within hours of each other, according to police. All of the reported incidents happened in the same area between late Nov.30 and early Dec.1, according to police reports.
The first incident took place in 1300 block of Hughes Ave. The resident told police that someone had stolen an inflatable Yoda holiday decoration from their front yard and had cut the electrical cords to their outdoor Darth Vader and Storm Trooper decorations. The victim then told police that a neighbor in the 7200 block of O'Neil Rd. had also had Christmas items stolen from their yard.
Police then went to the residence in the 7200 block of O'Neil Rd. to investigate further. According to a police report, the victim told police an inflatable snowman had been stolen from their front porch overnight and mentioned that the house behind theirs had a similar theft take place.

Upon arriving at the home in the 7200 block of Kidwell, police spoke with the resident and learned that someone had stolen her plastic light-up Mickey Mouse decoration. The resident told Downers Grove Police that she had heard reports of similar thefts on Facebook that night.
A fourth theft took place in the area in the same timeframe, police say. Another homeowner in 7200 block of Kidwell told police that he returned home from work on Dec. 1 to find that the electrical cord to his inflatable Darth Vader decoration had been cut and someone had stolen the decoration.
