Christmas Tree Recycling Available At 2 Parks In Downers Grove
See where, how and when you can recycle your Christmas tree in Downers Grove.

DOWNERS GROVE, IL — Once the winter holidays come to a close, it's time to take down all the lights, remove all the ornaments and get rid of that tree it seems like you just got done decorating.
Starting Dec. 25, Downers Grove residents can stop at two locations throughout the village to recycle their Christmas trees. The following parks will offer Christmas tree recycling, in which the tree is cut into wood chips that can be used for mulching in the future:
- McCullom Park, 6801 S. Main St., Downers Grove (on the western side of the park's north lot)
- Whitlock Park, 40th and Fairview, Downers Grove (on the southeast corner of the park's lot)
Residents should remove ornaments, lights and garland before depositing their tree in one of the recycling bins. This Christmas tree recycling initiative ends Jan. 17.
