Coming to Downers Grove: First Responders Challenge/Family Fun Day 2014
The First Responders Challenge/Family Fun Day 2014 will be held in Fishel Park in downtown Downers Grove on Saturday, September 13 from 10 a.m. until 5 p.m.
First responders, both police and firemen, and pretty special people. At a drop of a hat, they are ready and waiting to risk their lives for our safety and well-being.
There's an event coming up in Downers Grove that will not only highlight first responders in the Chicagoland area, but also will serve to support a great cause. Sizable donations will be made to the 100 Club of DuPage County and the 100 Club of Chicago/Cook County; both organizations provide financial support to the families of firefighters and police who lose their lives in the line of duty.

Now for more on the event....The First Responders Challenge/Family Fun Day 2014 is set for Saturday, September 13 in Fishel Park (on Grove just west of Main Street in downtown Downers). It will be held from 10 a.m. until 5 p.m. with a whole lot of family-friendly activities.

An obstacle course challenge will be set up on the park grounds, where area police and fire teams made up of three people will battle it out for ultimate bragging rights. The top three teams will win trophies and prizes as well. Crowds can spectate and cheer on their favorite team.
Other family-friendly activities will include: Inflatables, a caricature artist, wood building kits for kids, balloon twisters and a variety of vendor showcase tables from area businesses displaying their products and services...expect more than a few giveaways and special offers!
