We emphasize critical thinking, communication and collaboration skills across all levels. We have three levels of mixed-aged small cohorts that allow for differentiation that ensures all students are stretched without being stressed. We are college-prep without college pressure. Students are placed by ability vs. age and we are low-tech, but not no-tech. Our students use real books and writing utensils. Bullying is not tolerated here and we have a longstanding community culture of respect and encouragement among students and adults. Classes are taught in an eclectic combination of styles that includes themed, project-based, Modeling Instruction drawn from various pedagogies. Remington Woods to Host Saturday Open House as Final Phase is Complete
Remington Woods will host a Saturday Open House from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., offering prospective buyers the opportunity to tour the final available homes in the community’s completed final phase.
The event will be hosted by Brandy Crask, Director of Sales, who has played a central role in shaping the homes, finishes and buyer experience at Remington Woods.
Located at 22601 S. Remington Dr. in Channahon, Remington Woods is a 55+ single-family community featuring brand-new ranch-style homes, spacious private yards and a peaceful wooded setting.
“There is a feeling here that is hard to put into words until you drive through it,” Crask says. “These are some of the quietest streets you will ever experience, surrounded by mature trees and beautiful single-family homes. Gia Dagenhart of Lombard, a Glenbard East alum and recent graduate of Lawrence University (Appleton, Wisconsin), is a brilliant, young performer with dynamic vocals. Gia released her first recording titled “Artifact” in October of 2025; it showcases prismatic snapshots, lush poetry, and cultivated sophistication. At live performances, Dagenhart's easy confidence, warmth, and wit engage audiences and leave them buzzing.
Heather Styka of Chicago, an established touring artist and award-winning songwriter, delivers performances that are as intimate and candid as a late-night conversation, peppered with humor, confession, and a disarming honesty. Styka's songs are lyrics-forward and “make you feel as if you are peeking into her diary” (No Depression) with a “talent for telling stories and connecting emotionally” (Glide Magazine). This is a rare solo show for Heather as her recent passion is SELKEN, her band project.  thrilled to bring the Illinois Rock &amp; Roll Hall of Fame Induction 
Ceremony to downtown Chicago for the first time, and the Harris Theater 
is the perfect stage for it,” said Ron Romero, founder and president of 
the Illinois Rock &amp; Roll Museum on Route 66. “With its incredible 
acoustics and intimate 1,550-seat setting, the venue will help us make 
this year’s celebration an unforgettable night of music, memories and 
Illinois pride. The class of 2026 is our most genre-spanning lineup yet,
 honoring iconic artists and innovators. We can’t wait to bring the 
music community together, celebrate their legacy and, of course, fill 
the room with great music.”
This
 year’s inductees include bands and solos artists Survivor, American 
Breed, Koko Taylor, The Boyzz and The Flock; songwriters Curtis Mayfield
 and Kevin Cronin; radio personality Terri Hemmert; radio station WDRV 
(The Drive); Brunswick Records; and industry leaders. Irving Azoff, Gary
 Richrath, Golden Voice Studio and Triangle Productions. Other honorees 
include Hot Mix 5 and Plain White T’s.
“I’m
 excited that this year’s Illinois Rock &amp; Roll Hall of Fame event 
will be held in my sweet hometown of Chicago,” said Kevin Cronin, lead 
singer and songwriter for REO Speedwagon. “Ron Romero’s awesome team in 
Joliet has been working since early this year to make September 27th a 
night of big fun. I plan to be there, co-hosting and doing a little 
unplugged set with Jim Peterik. The only thing that could possibly 
change is if one of the Beatles calls and needs me to be somewhere 
else!”
