Cops Don't Know Who Made Park Fountain Foam at the Mouth

But don't worry: If the offender is caught, complaints will be signed, according to the police report.

Bubble, bubble, toil and probably some clean-up trouble for village workers.

The fountain at Washington Park, 835 Prairie Ave., became overrun with foam bubbles after an unknown individual filled the with an unknown substance some time between 5 p.m. Saturday, July 12, and 9:25 p.m. Sunday, July 13, when Downers Grove police responded to a call, according to a police report.

The foam did not cause any damage to the fountain, according to the responding officer's report. There was no indication in the report whether the foam was actually an unprovoked attack by Scrubbing Bubbles, determined to do the work of cleaning the fountain so park workers wouldn't have to.

"Complaints will be signed if an offender is located," the report stated.
