Costume Contest, Casket Race, More Planned For Wicked West Fest
Westmont will host its Wicked West Fest Oct. 22, bringing a haunted forest tour, pumpkin smashing and more to the downtown area.
WESTMONT, IL — Downtown Westmont's 2022 Wicked West Fest will feature trick-or-treating, a costume contest, a casket race and more Oct. 22.
The day-long festivities are as follows, according to an update from the village of Westmont:
Halloween Costume Contest at 10:15 a.m.

Participants can arrive at Cass and East Irving at 10:15 a.m. to sign up to compete in the festival's Halloween costume contest, which features six different age groups.
Wicked West Photo Booth from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Head to the intersection of Cass and East Irving in downtown Westmont to snap pics in front of a festive backdrop.
Pumpkin Smashing Extravaganza from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m.
A bucket truck will lift members of local community agencies and groups 20 feet into the air, so they can throw pumpkins at a target and vie for the titles for Pumpkin Queen and Pumpkin King.
Caskets on Cass Race at 12:30 p.m.
Competitors will race with homemade caskets down Cass Avenue. Participants include residents, business owners and members of community groups.
Haunted Forest Tour from 3 p.m. to 9:30 p.m.
Diane Main Park, 300 W. 59th St., will be the site of a haunted forest tour! Guests can explore the forest on foot or take a haunted hayride.
Little Monsters will be played from 3 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. for younger viewers. From 7 p.m. to 9:30 p.m., Sheer Terror Tours will offer frightful fun in the forest.
The cost is $6 per person.
