Crash Propels Car Into Wendy's Parking Lot In Westmont

WESTMONT, IL — One person was hospitalized Sunday after a two-car crash pushed one vehicle into a Wendy's parking lot in Westmont. Police Sergeant Tim Radtke said the car went off the road and crashed into a steel fence near the door to the restaurant.

The accident happened just after 6 p.m. near the intersection of Blackhawk and Ogden Ave., according to Radtke.

Westmont Fire Chief David Weiss told Patch the accident was not as bad as many people speculated on social media. Initial reports had said the car drove into the building of the restaurant, but Weiss said the car did not hit the restaurant.

Radtke told Patch the injured driver was taken to Good Samaritan Hospital in Downers Grove, but the extent of their injuries was not known. Patch will keep you updated with more details as they emerge.
