District 58 Picks New Principal For Henry Puffer School
Britta Waszak, who currently serves as an assistant principal in Westmont, said she "can't wait to get started."

DOWNERS GROVE, IL -- District 58 has announced its pick to replace Henry Puffer School Principal Todd McDaniel when he retires in June. The school board voted unanimously Monday to appoint Britta Waszak, who currently works as an assistant principal in Westmont.
District 58 Superintendent Dr. Kari Cremascoli said, "The interview teams were impressed by Mrs. Waszak’s collaborative approach to leadership and her vision for building a culture and climate that supports students’ success within school.”
Waszak, who lives in Downers Grove, has a master’s degree in educational leadership from North Central College and a bachelor’s degree in elementary education from DePaul University. She is currently assistant principal at J.T. Manning and C.E. Miller Elementary Schools in Westmont and previously worked as a fourth and fifth grade teacher in Oswego.

In a statement, Waszak said she will be dedicated to keeping decisions focused on the Henry Puffer students when she takes on the role of principal.
Waszak added that she's eager to get started "building positive and trusting relationships with students, families, staff and the community."
