Downers Grove 2017 Halloween Sex Offender Registry Safety Map

DOWNERS GROVE, IL — Halloween is right around the corner, so now is a good time to take an inventory of who is living in your neighborhood before kids go trick-or-treating.

There are currently 16 registered sex offenders living in Downers Grove, according to the Illinois State Police. Two of these offenders are incarcerated and two are listed as homeless.

According to the Illinois Sex Offender Registry, registered sex offenders are not permitted to pass out candy on Halloween. They are also prohibited from wearing a Halloween costume in public, though they may wear one in their homes. Registered sex offenders are also prohibited from wearing any other "child-centered holiday costume," including the Easter Bunny and Santa Claus.

Parents may choose to avoid trick-or-treating at these addresses on Halloween or may choose to use this map to be aware of those who live in their neighborhood.
